Valor's Story
Apply here: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/SAN/Dog

Meet Valor.

There are dogs you rescue... and then there are dogs that rescue you. Valor is one of those dogs.

At only 4 years old, Valor was confiscated from a place of unimaginable cruelty. The things he endured are things no dog should ever have to experience. Some stories are too painful to tell in a bio. We can share more with serious adopters who inquire. But if you meet him, youll quickly realize something that will stay with you long after you leave.

What happened to Valor does not define him.

And somehow... despite every reason in the world not to... he still loves.

He loves with a depth that is hard to explain. He wants hugs. He wants to be held close. He wants to curl up beside you in bed and press his entire body against yours like hes trying to make up for every ounce of love and safety he lost along the way. He leans into affection like its all he needs to survive.

After everything people did to him, Valor still chooses people.

He isnt destructive. He doesnt mark in the house. He quietly goes into his kennel without complaint. He walks gently on a leash like he just wants to stay near you. He wont dart out the door. Hes incredibly obedient and deeply in tune with his person - constantly watching you, following your lead, wanting nothing more than to be close and connected.

He loves toys and squeaky things. And hes still learning little things many dogs take for granted, like how to catch a ball.

Imagine surviving things no living creature should survive... and still finding joy in learning how to be a dog.

Valor has spent months in medical care and rehabilitation. Months learning safety. Learning trust. Learning that beds are soft, meals come regularly, and hands can bring comfort instead of pain.

The hardest part of Valors story is that because of what was done to him, he cannot live with other dogs or cats. He needs to be the only pet in the home.

But we know with everything in us that someone out there is missing him and doesnt know it yet.

Because Valor isnt just a good dog, hes a once-in-a-lifetime, soul dog.

If youve ever believed that love can survive impossible things... if youve ever wanted to be someones whole world... please apply for Valor. We have fought for him every step of the way. Now were searching for the person willing to give him the forever he deserves.

Apply here:

https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/SAN/Dog

FULLY VETTED Heartworm Negative Microchipped
Adoption Fee: $350
Transport available for an additional fee.

To apply:
Please fill out an application at www.ssrsaves.com or email info@ssrsaves.com and an adoption coordinator will contact you.

Our rescue is based in Houston, Texas, but we work with foster homes across multiple regions.
