Vallarta's Story

Vallarta is a beautiful 1.5 year old Anatolian mix with a gentle heart and an old soul. Beneath her shy and sensitive nature is an incredibly sweet dog who simply needs someone patient enough to show her that the world is not as scary as it seems.

Having spent most of her life on the property where she was raised, much of the outside world is still very new to Vallarta. New environments, loud noises, unfamiliar places, and strangers can feel overwhelming for her, and when she becomes nervous she tends to hunker down and try to disappear. Because of this, she is looking for a calm, understanding home that will move at her pace while helping her slowly build confidence and feel safe exploring beyond her comfort zone.

Once Vallarta feels secure and mentally “at home,” her true personality shines. She is mellow, laid back, and happiest lounging around near the people she trusts. Every now and then she surprises you with playful little puppy bursts that are impossible not to smile at. While she is not especially treat motivated, she absolutely loves bubbles and tennis balls.

Vallarta has been raised around children and adores her kiddos. She is also good with other dogs and takes comfort in calm companionship. She rides in the car and may start off nervous, but she settles down once it gets going.

She will need an adopter with a gentle yet confident approach. Someone willing to offer encouragement, reassurance, and the time she needs to blossom but won't let her stay in her corner forever. Vallarta is not the kind of dog who will instantly greet the world with confidence, but for the person willing to help expand her world and earn her trust, the bond you build with her will be incredibly special.

Est DOB 1/18/25

We are unique in the fact that our dogs do not live in kennels; instead they live with us in our home on about 5 acres of property located in Anza, CA or they are living with families in foster homes in Temecula, Murrieta, Wildomar, and other neighboring cities. They all have full access to our home and property and sleep inside with us at night. This ensures that our pets are well adjusted and perfectly suited to become a part of your family. View adoptable pets on our website: www.hoperanchanimalsanctuary.org/adopt ADOPTION APPLICATION (required): www.hoperanchanimalsanctuary.org/adoption-application Like all rescues, we are ALWAYS in need of loving and patient foster homes so we can save more lives who need us most.
