Hi! My name is Valkyrie, but I go by Val for short. I am an incredibly sweet 2 and 1/2 year old Aussie X Shepherd mix who had a really rough start to life. Luckily, I found my way into rescue and you’d never suspect I’ve been anything other than a happy go lucky pup my whole life! I am great with other dogs and cats, and have been fostered with both for over a year now! I also LOVE people! I’ve never met a stranger and am always happy to get any attention you’re willing give me! I am being treated for valley fever and am doing great (the rescue will cover my valley fever treatment until my titer is down to normal). I came into rescue about a year ago in really bad shape suffering from distemper virus, covered in ticks, emaciated, with half my face torn off after being attacked by a pack of dogs. With lots of time and TLC, I’ve been thriving and have healed up wonderfully! I still have a funky smile because a lot of my lip has been torn off, and I have some malformed teeth due to the distemper virus, but everyone says it’s part of my charm! My fosters say that I am a really great pup and would love to now find a home of my own! I will need some dental work in the future (the rescue will cover this as well) but otherwise I’ve adapted really well to being an inside dog and have enjoyed all of the comforts I’ve missed out on my whole life! I am house trained and doggy door trained, I am also kennel trained and know a few basic commands! I would be an awesome adventure buddy and I love to swim! I would be a great addition to a home looking for a buddy to take walking, but I also have a great off switch and am happy to curl up next to you for a movie night! I am a total shadow and would love to spend the day at your side. I am still a puppy so my fosters crate me when they are not home, or I stay roaming in the laundry room with dog door access with my foster siblings and do vey well! I sleep through the night free roaming with my foster siblings and am very respectful in the house! I walk well on my leash and play well with dogs and cats of all sizes!
