<br/>Valentina is one of those puppies who just has an easy, sweet presence about her. At around 9 weeks old, this little Chihuahua mix is already showing off a gentle nature and a calm confidence that makes her really special. She came into rescue as part of an owner surrender with her mom (11 lbs), and we suspect dad is similar in size. Valentina is expected to stay on the smaller side once fully grown.<br/><br/>Valentina is being fostered in Austin, Texas and is available for adoption out of state. Transport can be arranged by the rescue once matched with an approved adopter. The adoption process includes an application, phone interview, video call with the foster home, virtual home visit, and vet and personal reference checks.<br/>Right now, Valentina is taking everything in stride. She may be a little unsure at first in new situations, but she warms up quickly and settles in with a quiet, affectionate demeanor. She’s sweet, gentle, and enjoys being around her people without being overwhelming.<br/><br/>One of the standout things about Valentina is how well she settles. She’s a great sleeper and already shows an ability to relax and recharge, which can be a rare find in such a young puppy. She has a nice balance of playful curiosity and calm downtime, making her an easy puppy to live with.<br/><br/>She’s also proving to be very trainable. She’s attentive, picks up on patterns quickly, and seems to genuinely enjoy learning. With consistency and positive reinforcement, she’s the kind of puppy who will likely progress quickly and grow into a very well-mannered companion.<br/><br/>Valentina is doing well with other dogs and benefits from being around friendly, confident pups. Continued socialization with new people, environments, and experiences will help her continue to build confidence and become a well-rounded adult dog.<br/><br/>Like all puppies her age, Valentina just needs a little patience, structure, and consistency as she learns the basics. She’s still working on house training and crate training and will need a family ready to guide her through that process. Because she’s so young, she’ll do best in a home where someone is around more often than not to support her development and give her the attention she needs to thrive.<br/><br/>Valentina hasn’t been around cats or young children yet, but would likely do well in a calm home with respectful, well-mannered kids who understand how to interact with a small puppy.
