When he first arrived, he was underweight and unsure of the world, but with patience and kindness, he's learned that life can be filled with comfort, safety, and love. Now he's ready to find a family of his own.<br/><br/> Personality & Behavior<br/>Ulysses is a gentle, affectionate pup who absolutely melts for attention. He loves body rubs, enjoys being with people, and lights up when someone shows him kindness. When he gets excited, he may become a little mouthy or nippy, but he redirects easily with a calm, gentle reminder.<br/><br/>He is also good with other dogs and shows happy, friendly body language when he sees them. He doesn't pull toward other dogs and seems like he would truly enjoy having a calm, friendly canine companion to help him continue learning how to play and relax.<br/><br/>Because he can be a bit enthusiastic and may accidentally knock little ones over, Ulysses would do best in a home without small children.<br/><br/> Skills & Training<br/>Ulysses already has some great manners and life skills, including:<br/> House trained<br/> Good in a crate<br/> Walks well on leash<br/> Knows "sit"<br/> Very treat motivated (which makes training fun and easy!)<br/><br/>He is easy to leash and harness. He may hesitate for a moment when getting into the car, but once inside he rides calmly and quietly. He hops out on his own, ready for his next adventure.<br/><br/> Outside Adventures & Energy<br/>Ulysses enjoys getting outside to explore, sniff, and stretch his legs. He handles new environments with growing confidence and continues to improve with baths and unfamiliar situations. Right now, his energy level is medium-to-low, but as he gains strength and assurance, his playful side will shine through.<br/><br/> Come Meet Ulysses!<br/>Ulysses is waiting for his new family at Guilford County Animal Services.
