Tyson's Story

Meet Tyson: The Ultimate Velcro Sidekick!
Looking for a loyal pit mix who will love you with his whole heart, keep you active, and then literally whip his butt onto the couch to cuddle? Meet Tyson!
Tyson is a true "velcro dog." Once he bonds with his primary person, he is connected for life. He's an expert at hide-and-seek, a world-class cuddler (preferably right under the blankets), and a gentle communicator who will give you a subtle "bop" when he needs to go outside.
Tyson's Highlights:
House & Kennel Pro: Fully trained, knows "kennel up," and can easily handle up to 9 hours.
Adventure Partner: Has fantastic off-leash recall with his trusted person. He also loves running alongside a bicycle! When he's focused on keeping pace with a bike, the outside world melts away and he doesn't react to anything.
Fun Quirks: Loves bones, bully sticks, and stuffed rope toys. He also still has some puppy antics (like trying to sneak small Nerf toys) and enjoys digging a good hole now and then.
Structure & Boundaries for Success:
Tyson is an incredibly smart boy who thrives on routine and structure to build his trust. To help him be his best self, his future home should know:
The Transition: It might take him a couple of weeks to settle in and learn your routine, but once he figures it out, he's gold.
Leadership & Consistency: Tyson looks to his person for guidance. He listens best to a strong leader who keeps up consistent boundaries.
Other Dogs: Tyson can be dog-friendly but needs slow, patient introductions. He previously showed resource guarding over toys, but with structured training and corrections, he learned to coexist beautifully with the dogs in his foster home.
Leash Manners: On a standard walk, Tyson can get overstimulated and reactive when people or distractions pass by. However, with a confident handler giving him clear direction, he can pass things right by without a hitch!
Travel & Potty: He gets car sick, so he's looking for a family patient enough to help him work through his motion sickness. He also happens to have a high metabolism, so expect plenty of regular potty breaks!
Tyson is proof that with a little leadership and a solid routine, a dog can become the ultimate companion. If you're ready for a loyal, blanket-hogging best friend, Tyson is ready for you!
Apply to foster-to-adopt or adopt Tyson today!
Tyson's adoption fee is $425 plus MN tax which covers his neuter, vaccinations, microchip and any additional medical care he may have needed while in the rescue's care.
We are a foster based rescue, we do not house dogs at a facility. Age and breed are NLR's best guess as we often don't know who or what mom and dad are. If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application on our website.
