Tyson's Story
Tyson is a sweet, 90-pound Great Pyrenees mix puppy who is housebroken, crate-trained, and ready for his forever home. This mid-level energy pup enjoys a daily mix of playing with other dogs and snoozing on the couch. While Tyson is calm and well-mannered, he can be unsure in new situations or around unfamiliar people sometimes. He thrives with a family that will give him the time and patience to build trust, and once he feels secure, his gentle, loyal personality truly shines, even in public settings.

Tyson is a gentle and polite soul with a quiet confidence that emerges as he settles into his surroundings. Because he needs a little time to bond with his people, a home with older, respectful children would be the best fit. Once he's comfortable, he shows his playful side and forms deep, devoted connections with his family. He loves cats and enjoys playing with them, though he can be a little over-enthusiastic at times. With other dogs, especially younger ones, his puppy energy comes to life, and he'll happily play for hours.

Tyson is housebroken, crate-trained, and sleeps soundly through the night. He knows "sit," "down," and "lay down," and has a charming habit of "sploofing" (stretching his back legs out behind him) when he lies down. He enjoys affection but isn't overly needy, preferring a quiet nuzzle or head scratch every now and then. Tyson loves staying close to his foster dad and often follows him from room to room, a sweet reflection of the loyal companion he becomes once he feels safe and secure.

If you'd like to be considered to adopt, the first step in the process is to submit an application through our website: http://athenscaninerescue.com/adoption-procedures/. Our adoption fee is $250 per dog over the age of 6 months and $300 per dog 6 months or younger. We accept payment by Venmo, PayPal, or card.

This includes: basic vet care (i.e. basic vaccinations, including boosters completed after adoption, spay/neuter, heartworm/flea preventatives, and treatment for any health needs while in our care), a microchip, a weeks worth of food for the trial-period, and a harness lead.

All in state applications will be considered with some preference given to more local applications. WE ARE NOT ACCEPTING OUT OF STATE APPLICATIONS FOR DOGS SIX MONTHS OR YOUNGER.

We do not have a facility and operate through a network of foster homes. Thus, we do not have a phone number. If youd like to discuss potential adoptions, please email at adopt@athenscaninerescue.com.
