Tygren's Story

Meet Tygren! A 1.5-year-old Pomeranian/Husky/Terrier mix available for adoption at CCHS! Tygren is a quiet guy who prefers to take it slow when meeting new people. You might want to come and meet him twice to give him a chance to show you his true self. Once he relaxes with you, you'll see what a great dog he is! Tygren loves going for walks and light jogs, does great in a car, and enjoys a nice pup cup on his day out. If you're looking for a new best friend, don't pass Tygren by. <br/><br/>Tygren is a VOLUNTEER FAVORITE pet! Here's what dog socializing volunteer, Michelle, has to say about him: <br/>"Tygren must be best buddies with Tigger as this is the song I imagine them signing together, 'The Wonderful thing about Tiggers, is Tiggers are wonderful things, tops are made out of rubber, their bottoms are made out of springs, their bouncey, trouncey, ouncey, pouncey fun, fun, fun, fun, fun'. Just like Tigger, Tygren is filled with lots of happy energy, is a little mischievous and has an abundance of love to give. This is a dog that once couldn't be coaxed out of his kennel, now I fight off the kisses!! I love taking him out for walks that are filled with hops, skips and spins. Its time to find him a home!"

Champaign County Humane Society's Adoption Policy
The first step toward adoption is coming to the shelter to meet the animals. Once you have decided on an animal you would like to adopt, you will be asked to fill out an adoption application followed by a brief interview with one of our adoption counselors. If you prefer to fill out an Adoption Application online ahead of time, please visit the CCHS website. While submitting an application online will save some time during your visit to the shelter, submitting an application online does not place a "hold" on an animal, nor is it a guarantee of adoption. It generally takes 24-72 hours for the adoption staff to complete processing applications, so we do not send animals home the same day. MULTIPLE APPLICATIONS: CCHS accepts up to three applications per pet and priority for adoption is given to the first family to submit an application. If interested in a specific animal, we recommend calling the shelter prior to your visit for more information on their status. Please bring a valid photo ID with you for your visit to the shelter. You must be at least 18 years of age to adopt from CCHS. Hours for Adoptions: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday: 2:00 PM – 7:00 PM Saturday and Sunday: 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM The shelter is closed on Tuesdays and major holidays.
