Tux's Story
Meet Silver Tux! Tux for short.
Please fill out an application to meet him! https://www.welcomehomesanctuary.org/adoption-application

Living with Tux is like having a tiny, 12-pound Victorian gentleman as a roommate. Unlike some dog who can be rude or too rambunctious —Tux actually has a sense of decorum and respects personal boundaries. He doesn’t jump on you or lick your face off; instead, he prefers to follow you around and sit quietly next to you like a loyal, silent shadow.

We rescued him from the streets of **Stockton** after he spent several days hanging around an apartment building, and while he was a skinny nine pounds when we started, he has already bulked up to a much healthier **twelve pounds**. He is basically a professional office assistant at this point because the foster has been taking him to work, where he navigated elevators, stairs, and a dozen different coworkers with ease.

Tux is sooooo good on the leash and doesn’t pull at all, and while he is generally very mellow, he will give you a dignified little **"low woof"** to let you know if someone is outside. No annoying loud barks! He can be a bit hand-shy and might blink if you move toward his face too quickly—which honestly breaks your heart—but he attaches to new people so fast that you’ll be best friends within five minutes.

He is incredibly accurate with his pee pads and is a perfect boy at night, staying on his own mattress next to the bed without ever trying to hog the blankets. Tux is already fixed, vaccinated, and ready to steal your heart with those big brown eyes that seem to get brighter and clearer every single day. His eyes!! The way he looks at people just melts my heart.
