Turk's Story

Turk, an athletic 5-year-old shepherd mix, is a walking contradiction. He clearly wants to connect with humans but just doesn’t know how. His default behavior is to bark, move forward, bark and move back, all the while wagging his tail. He starts to approach when other dogs do, but then shies away. This guy needs someone who can help him overcome his fears and accept the love he desperately wants.

Turk is good with the other dogs in his pack, although he does bark at newcomers to the rescue. Once he’s been out with them a few times, he’s fine. He’s healthy, neutered, current on vaccines, heartworm-negative and on monthly prevention.

If you have the time and patience to work with this beautiful dog, we believe he will blossom. His adoption fee is just $100. Email info @ savethestrays.org for more information or an application.
