Turbo's Story

Located in Ijamsville, MD.

Meet Turbo, a happy boy who is confident, curious, and fun!! He loves playtime, walks, and exploring, but also knows how to settle down and relax when it is time to chill. He would LOVE an active adopter to take walks, run, hike with.. and maybe learn agility?

He would be a great only dog, but would also love an equally young and playful fur sibling.

Turbo is good with other dogs and friendly with everyone he meets although he is learning not to jump up. He is house trained and knows to go to the door to alert you that he needs to go out. He sleeps through the night and loves to relax and snuggle throughout the day once he's had a good run-about outside. He is not a huge fan of the crate, but has been doing well with short periods of time in the crate with positive crate training. He is mostly left outside of the crate in his foster home and has been a good boy with that! Just don't leave any yummy treats out, because he is learning not to counter surf.

He enjoys his walks and is improving every day at not pulling on the leash. He does well with corrections and the use of a no-pull harness. He can bark at things from the fenced yard, but getting more used to the neighborhood activity and excitement. He's looking for an adopter that will continue teaching him the rules. Turbo would be a great fit for just about anyone who can give him regular exercise and love. Whether in a house or an apartment, this happy, fun-loving boy is ready to bring joy and energy to his new family.

Included Veterinary Care:
- Up-to-date on Vaccinations
- Microchipped
- Flea/Tick Preventative
- Heartworm Preventative
- Dewormer
- Spayed/Neutered

Operation Paws for Homes's Adoption Policy
Our organization provides pet adoption services to families located in Virginia, Washington DC, Maryland, Southern Pennsylvania and neighboring states. We believe in responsible adoptions and strive to work with each adopter to find a good match for their home and lifestyle. Our adoption process includes completion of an application, a vet check, an interview, and a personal “meet and greet” where the family can meet and interact with their potential new four-legged family member. Throughout this process, we work to ensure each family and dog are the right fit for each other. We are fortunate to have some wonderful and active volunteers who help OPH find forever homes for over 1,000 dogs and cats a year. The key to that statement is - volunteer! Please remember that our organization is driven by caring individuals who give their personal time to help rescue these animals and provide them with the opportunity to find an amazing future! In addition to adoptions, volunteers carry out education and outreach events throughout the area, and conduct donation drives for our partner shelters in the south. Our goal is to offer a second chance to dogs and cats abandoned in shelters and out of time. Sadly, without our help, some of these adoptable animals would face almost certain euthanasia - sometimes within days of arriving at the shelter. Each year we rescue hundreds of wonderful dogs and cats. We work hard to unite them with forever families who will give them the life and love they deserve. These animals are saved only because of the dedication of our incredible adopters, fosters, donors, and volunteers.
