Tulsa's Story

Meet Tulsa affectionately known as Chili 🌶️ by her foster family.

Meet Tulsa affectionately known as Chili by her foster family. Chili is a beautiful 1-2 year old Red Tri Australian Shepherd who thrives on companionship and being part of her people's everyday life. Chili has grown tremendously since arriving in her foster home and continues to gain confidence and independence. While she enjoys being in the same room as her people, she’s happy to relax on her own—lounging at the end of the couch or chewing peacefully on a Benebone while her people go about their day.

Chili does excellent in her crate at night and is also content crated during the day when her people are home. When left home alone, she may become anxious and vocal, but she has never had accidents or been destructive. She simply prefers company and clear structure.

One of Chili’s standout strengths is her excellent recall. She loves trips to the park to play fetch and is very responsive to her people. Despite being an Australian Shepherd, Chili is surprisingly laid back and does not fit the typical high-energy stereotype. She’s happy to get her zoomies out in the backyard and then spend much of the day resting or napping.

Chili has done very well living with other dogs. She gets along especially well with her foster sister, who is more docile, and after some initial boundary-setting, she has also improved significantly with her newest foster sister—an eight-month-old puppy still learning social awareness. She does best with dogs who respect boundaries and respond well to clear communication.

Overall, Chili is a well-balanced dog who enjoys both activity and downtime. She would thrive in a home that values companionship, structure, and a dog who wants to be included—but is also capable of settling and entertaining herself.

She did not do well with children so would need teens and up in her new home.
Cats are an unknown.

Due to some allergies she has been placed on a no chicken diet and would do best to continue this in her new home.

Tulsa is spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm and tick disease negative and on preventatives. She is ready to find her forever family.
