Tuki's Story
Tuki is an owner surrender who has had a rough start in life. Typical to the breed she has bonded to her person and will take time to warm up and accept a new guardian. She lost her person after six months and then was at a shelter before being imported to Canada, via a rescue, and was adopted out. The rescue no longer exists but a representative offered to ship her back to Korea where her future is very questionable. Her people care about her but she isn’t in the ideal environment so have made the difficult decision to re-home her.

Tuki is shy and fearful but very much wants to be close to someone. She is interested in learning and does so very quickly. Tuki is extremely intelligent.

Tuki is low maintenance in the home as she does not need constant attention; she likes to sit near someone while they work, or she will sit at a distant and observe what you’re doing.

She explores her indoor surroundings on her own, very tentatively and is very quiet in the home. She barks if she hears someone close to the door but doesn’t ‘charge’ at anyone walking in.

Loud unexpected noises scare Tuki. If inside when a loud noise or unexpected movement occurs, she will go inside of her crate, which is her safe space. If outside and a loud noise occurs, she will bolt home.

Once leashed, she is happy to be outside if there are no loud noises, trucks, or anything moving past her too fast. She has shown she enjoys sniffing, doing her ‘bunny hop’ in snow and tall grass.

Getting her outside is a bit of a challenge but once leashed, she has shown she enjoys the outdoors. On her walks, Tuki ‘minds her own business’ – she walks past dogs without reacting and walks past people without interest.

A quiet home with a yard or country home will serve her best.
