Meet Tuffie!<br/><br/>Tuffie is a 3 year old Toy Poodle weighing 10 pounds who is looking for a patient and understanding family to help him discover just how wonderful life can be.<br/><br/>Tuffie came to rescue through a breeder release, meaning most of his life was spent in a kennel with limited socialization and very little exposure to the world outside of it. Because of this, he is the shyest of the poodles currently in our care. New people, new places, and new experiences can feel overwhelming at first, but underneath that timid exterior is a truly sweet and gentle little dog.<br/><br/>While Tuffie takes a bit longer to warm up than some of the others, he is making progress every day. With patience, kindness, and consistency, youll begin to see his personality emerge and his confidence grow. He wants to trust, he wants to be loved, and he simply needs a family willing to let him move at his own pace.<br/><br/>Tuffie gets along wonderfully with other dogs and is very comfortable around them, having spent most of his life in their company. He is also fine with cats. He does well in a crate and has been learning good potty habits, though his future family should expect an adjustment period as he settles into a new home and routine.<br/><br/>Because of his shy nature, a home with older children or adults would be the best fit. Tuffie has never shown aggressionhe simply prefers to retreat and observe when hes unsure. He has also never learned how to walk on a leash, so his forever family will need to patiently introduce him to that new experience.<br/><br/>Tuffie is a sweet boy who has missed out on many of the experiences most dogs take for granted.
