Thank you.
------------------------------------------------------
Fostered in Burlington

Tucker is a 6.5 year old, MinPin/Chihuahua cross. He is a sweet and energetic adult male who is ready for a new life!

Tucker came into rescue overweight (now 30lbs) but is meeting his goals with healthy diet and exercise. He has had some big changes in the last few months, and he is adjusting to new situations and people. He is very nervous at first but warms up once he is comfortable. He is sensitive to loud noises and sudden movements so he startles easily. He is used to being a companion so prefers not to be alone, and as the only dog in the house.

Tucker has been well trained: he knows his name and all basic commands, and is very obedient. He is housetrained, crate trained, and sleeps through the night on his own bed. He walks well on his leash at a good pace - he does bark and react to passing dogs, but he does settle when corrected.

Tucker is a picky eater and is getting used to eating regular dog food, but always looking for junky treats! He will require a strong leader who is determined to get him the exercise he needs, and to make sure he maintains a healthy diet without any unhealthy “extras”.

Tucker has a great energy level for the average household: he enjoys walks and romping around the backyard, but can also calm down for long rests too. He is very affectionate, and loves attention and cuddles. The typical Velcro-dog, he will follow his person around and settle close. He does not like to be alone, but for short amounts he is okay. He tolerates being crated when alone but may not really need it, as he is not destructive.

Tucker would not be suitable for an apartment as he is quite vocal. He barks at any new noise or arrival. He is loud but does not go on for too long, and submits to correction.

Tucker has a strong preference for women, and shows fearfulness of some men. He has been comfortable with dog-savvy teens and young adults. He would not do well with cats, and is not suitable for a first-time dog owner.

Tucker is up to date on vaccinations and recently had a full physical check-up at the vet. He is in great condition and continues to lose weight at a healthy rate. He does have some hot spots on his paws from a past allergic reaction that may require veterinary attention in the future.

This sweet cuddle-bug is ready for his new life in a calm and loving home where he can be an experienced dog-owner’s best friend and companion.

To adopt this dog go to: http://forms.gle/Ev16pQeQ2zAZWLig6

Rat Terrier Rescue Canada Adoption Fees
Puppies under 1 year - $775
Young adult 1 year - 5 years $650
Adults 6 years - 9 years $575
Seniors 10+ $325

The adoption fee includes spay/neuter .
*EXCLUDING UNALTERED PUPPIES UNDER A YEAR.

The adoption fee also includes, at a minimum, vaccinations, de-worming, I.D. tag and microchip insertion.
