Tucker's Story

Meet Tucker — The Ultimate Lap Dog & Blanket-Burrowing Buddy!

Tucker is an 11-year-old Jack Russell/Chihuahua mix who lives for one thing above all else: being close to his people . At just 14 pounds, he is the perfect size to curl up in your lap, lean against your side, or tuck himself under your blankets for the coziest snuggles imaginable . If you’ve been looking for a loyal little companion who adores being near you, Tucker is your guy.

Though he’s a senior, Tucker still enjoys fun bursts of energy—jumping around, tossing toys, and showing off his playful side. When he’s done, he’s just as happy to settle into a quiet nap right next to you.
Tucker is house-trained, leash-trained, and behaves beautifully when left home alone. He has never been the type to get into things he shouldn’t. He can be protective when someone walks into the room he’s in, so a calm home with adults or older kids who understand his loyal nature would suit him well.

While Tucker doesn’t enjoy meeting dogs on walks, he does fine when dogs visit the home, and he doesn’t need a canine companion to be happy. Cats are untested. He doesn’t require a fenced yard—he’s perfectly content enjoying his daily walks.

Tucker’s ideal home is one with someone who has time to enjoy his affectionate, people-oriented personality. Seniors or families with older children would be a great match, especially if they appreciate a dog who wants to be close, cozy, and loved.

Tucker is neutered and recently had extensive dental surgery, so he’s all set for a fresh start with a healthy smile.

And for his cutest quirk?
Tucker loves sleeping on the bed or burrowing under your blankets—he’s a champion snuggle nest builder.

If you’re looking for a warm, devoted, lap-loving companion who will happily be your little shadow, Tucker may be the perfect addition to your home.

What’s included in your adoption fee?
At Myrtle Animal Rescue & Sanctuary, we’re committed to ethical rescue and lifelong support.
