Tucker's Story

Apply to Adopt Me!
Meet Tucker!

Tucker is a 1.5-year-old, 17lb. possible fox terrier mix with three legs, one big heart, and absolutely no plans to let anything slow him down! He was found shot in the front left leg and recently had surgery to amputate, but is healing like a champ. Now all he needs is a forever family to cheer him on.

Tucker is quiet, house trained, sleeps through the night, and even though the crate isn't his favorite place, he knows to settle down when it's time. He loves people, and is always up for whatever the day brings.

Tucker does well with dogs too, but while he usually walks great on a leash, he is actively working on being a little less reactive to them on his walks. His wiry coat also makes him dislike the strong Florida heat, so short walks in the early morning or at sundown are best for him. He does well with cats, and although he hasn't been around kids in our rescue, we think he would be fine due to his friendly nature.

Getting into a car tends to make Tucker nervous. He's still learning to ride well in the car, and he is getting there slowly with practice.

Tucker isn't very food motivated, but if you want to throw a tennis ball, play with squeaky toys, or spend time outside, he's in. If you'd rather stay home and relax, he'll happily curl up beside you instead. At the end of the day, he really just likes being around his people.

Tucker does have some separation anxiety, so a home where his people can be with him most of the day is required. He needs a forever home with someone who will continue working with him on that. His current home does not have another dog, so another dog in the home may also give him comfort. If you live in the Central Florida/Orlando area and believe you have the perfect home for Tucker, please complete an app and tell us more about you.
