Tubey's Story

Meet Tubey, the sausage shaped wonder!

Hi friends! My name is Tubey, possibly because I am somewhat tube or cylindrical shaped? I’m a happy little guy who likes to play. I don’t play for too long at once though, I need time to rest in between.

I came into care with another small old dog named Penelope, though I’d say we’re more casual friends than a bonded pair, so we would be ok going to the same or different forever homes.

I love to snuggle and burrow under the blankets, it’s in my genes! Though burrowing in tunnels like my ancestors would be cold and wet, and I’m a fair-weather kind of guy. I like chasing squirrels and birds in the yard when it’s not quite so cold out though.

I get along well with the 2 cats in my foster home and Penelope, though I am a bit of a guzzler and try to eat my food and then hers, so I need a reminder to stick to my own bowl only. I’m not sure how I would be with other dogs that I don’t know yet, I think with a good fit and slow intro I would be ok though.

My favourite party trick is to sit up on my hind legs and beg, I’m pretty good at balancing and sometimes I get a treat for it, so that’s pretty neat!

I’m a well behaved houseguest, I do my business in the designated areas only, don’t destroy things when you’re out and I let you sleep all night. I’m sure you’ve had roommates who weren’t nearly so considerate.

I’m an accomplished cuddler and will keep you warm all night, do you have room in your home for me?

Born: January 10th, 2015
Breed: Dachshund
Gender: Male
Size: Small
Activity Level: Medium
Cats: Yes
Dogs: Probably
Kids: Older kids as he can get a bit excited/mouthy when playing
Adoption Fee: $345

If you are interested in meeting Tubey, applications can be found here:

http://mgpr.weebly.com/dog-adoption-application.html

Manitoba Great Pyrenees Rescue's Adoption Policy
The adoption process starts with an application form to find out more information about your family to ensure the best fit for the dog. Applications can be found at http://mgpr.weebly.com/ Second step is to have reference checks and vet checks. We want to ensure all dogs go to responsible loving homes. Thirdly, is the meet and greet with the dog you are interested in adopting. We encourage all members of your family to be in attendance at this visit as the dog will be an integral part of all of their lives. The final step of the adoption process is a home visit from one of our team members. The home visit allows us to see the environment in which the dog will be living as well as to offer any tips and advice to making your home dog friendly. Then your new family member will come home to shower your family with unconditional love.
