Meet Tsuga! <br/><br/>Tsuga is a stunning black and tan German Shepherd, around 2 years old, who came to us as an owner surrender due to lifestyle changes. Through no fault of his own, he is now searching for a home that can give him the structure, activity, and companionship he deserves. <br/><br/>Tsuga is a social, intelligent boy who has previously lived successfully with children as well as a female large breed dog. He has also completed formal obedience training and already has a solid foundation to build from. He walks nicely on a slip lead when it is positioned properly and responds well to clear handling. Because of his strength and drive, we believe he would continue to benefit from structured training tools, such as a properly fitted prong collar, along with ongoing guidance and consistency.<br/><br/>Like many shepherds, Tsuga has a strong prey drive. His previous owners noted that he repeatedly chased skunks despite being sprayed directly in the face multiple times... which probably tells you everything you need to know about his commitment to the chase. Unfortunately, because of this prey drive, Tsuga would do best in a home without cats or other small animals.<br/><br/>Tsuga is looking for an experienced, active home that understands the working shepherd mindset and is ready to continue channeling his energy and intelligence in positive ways.
