Trusty (Waffles)'s Story

Trusty is a one year old Pitbull/Lab mix with a huge heart and an even bigger love for his people. He's the kind of dog who wants to be part of everything you do — whether that's playing ball in the yard, splashing in the water, or curling up for cuddles at the end of the day. Trusty is great with children and does well with some dogs, but he cannot live with big dogs or cats. He would thrive as an only dog or in a home with a compatible, smaller dog. An active family would be a perfect fit for him — he loves to play, explore, and be involved. He is crate trained and potty trained, and he absolutely loves being close to his people. Trusty does have separation anxiety, so he'll need a family who can help him feel secure and supported when left alone. He also has food aggression/anxiety, so he should be fed separately and, in a calm, structured environment. Trusty is a smart, athletic boy who needs safe boundaries. He must be placed on a runner when outside or have a secure 6foot fence, as he can and will jump lower fencing. With the right setup, he's a happy, playful companion who enjoys every moment outdoors. Trusty's ideal home is one that understands his sensitivities and celebrates his strengths — a family who will give him structure, reassurance, and plenty of love. In return, hell give you loyalty, affection, and endless joy. If you're looking for a devoted, energetic companion who will adore you completely, Trusty might be the perfect match.

Maryland Animal Rescue Foundation (MARF)'s Adoption Policy
Potential adopters are interviewed to ensure a good home will be provided for the dog. Veterinarians and references are contacted and home checks (typically virtually) are performed. We require homes to provide proper vet care and meet all of the needs of the dog. In addition, we make sure the dog is the right fit for the adopter as sometimes the dog they want may not be the right fit for their home and family.
