She is not here for hiking, marathons, or early-morning boot camps. She has hypothyroidism, which likely explains some of her appearance and skin/hair history. She takes inexpensive thyroid medication twice a day and will need to continue it for life. She handles it like the easygoing queen she is.<br/>She also has a history of allergies and chronic allergic inflammation, hence the lumps. When she arrived in rescue, she had hair loss and several lumps that understandably raised concern. The reassuring news is that biopsies have been negative for anything serious, and no new lumps have appeared, so likely a side effect of allergies that were not treated.<br/>We do not yet know exactly what she is allergic to, but simply avoiding chicken and getting fed regularly has already helped her hair grow back. Her adopter should expect that allergy management may be an ongoing process, potentially involving diet adjustments and routine veterinary guidance over time. In other words: nothing currently life-threatening or scary, but she is a bulldog who will need an adopter comfortable with consistent, long-term care.<br/>Her mobility is also more "short stroll and sniff" than "weekend warrior." She has arthritis related to the inflammation she arrived with, so she benefits from a realistic lifestyle, gentle activity, and lots of comfy places to rest. Once she gets moving, though, her little waddle-and-hop routine is impossible not to love.<br/><br/>Her ideal home:<br/>She would thrive with someone who appreciates an uncomplicated, affectionate companion and understands that bulldogs come with a little extra maintenance. She does not need an adventurous household or someone home every minute of the day. She would be wonderful for an apartment dweller, a person who works longer hours, or anyone whose favorite plan is coming home, changing into comfy clothes, and settling in with their dog.<br/>She is looking for a home where veterinary care, thyroid medication, and allergy management are treated as normal parts of loving her-not as a burden. In return, she will offer exceptional couch companionship, unconditional affection, zero judgment about your streaming choices, and a very cute face beside you at happy hour.<br/>She may be deaf, a little lumpy, and a little waddly-but in real life, she is simply an easy, loving bulldog girl who wants a soft place to land.
