Truffles

Truffles arrived at the shelter in February 2024 and has been in a foster home since May 2024. She is a 4-year-old Pit/Staffie mix with an adorable puppy-like appearance and a 50-pound athletic physique. She appears very healthy and her Wisdom Panel shows no common genetic health risks.<br/><br/>She is very affectionate and loves all people, including well-behaved children. With slow, proper introductions, she gets along with other dogs and cats. She is sometimes reactive to dogs and cats while out on walks (though she responds reliably to a "watch me" command, eliciting a sit and quiet).<br/><br/>Truff is housetrained, smart, and knows sit, down, shake, high five, sit pretty, and off in no time. She is a little nervous in new situations (licking, reassurance of touch) but adjusts quickly with a good routine. She is eager to please and has short, soft fur (like velvet on her belly). She hardly sheds! Soft and sweet.<br/><br/>She is non-destructive, chewing only on her toys (balls, stuffies, nylabones, hard hollow bones). <br/><br/>Truffles adjusts her energy level to suit the circumstances, equally content to join you on brisk walks or curl up on a plush bed and enjoy some well-deserved relaxation time. She is an excellent retriever and releaser of tennis balls! And she recently learned she enjoys swimming.<br/><br/>Truffles would be a loving, loyal companion for an individual or family. She would prefer a somewhat quiet household (yelling and loud noises make her nervous - she's a peace puppy).<br/><br/>All adoptions are by appointment only. If you are interested in a meeting, please request an application via a Petfinder inquiry. An application will be emailed to you to complete and return. After that, an officer will contact you.<br/><br/>All adoptions are $10. In California, dogs are required to have current rabies vaccinations and must be licensed in their county of residence.
