Truffle's Story

This sweet chocolately little Truffle has just come to us from a very crowded shelter where she was on the Urgent list..<br/><br/>Thankfully we got her out in time, because this girl has so far shown herself to be very lovable, gentle, and SUPER dog friendly! <br/><br/>Truffle came to us very skinny, so we are working on getting some weight on her, but otherwise she is healthy. She is a gorgeous chocolate/coffee color and once she fills out she will really be stunning!<br/><br/>Truffle came in quite shy, but she has come to a few adoption events and done great! She was fine with the other dogs there, and friendly to people as well. She is extremely treat motivated!! Understandable since it seems clear she has not always had enough food. :(<br/><br/>Those days are behind her now! We can't wait til her lucky family comes along and takes this sweet girl home!<br/><br/>Truffle adores her doggy foster siblings, all different sizes, and we would love for her to have a dog sibling in her forever home, though it is not an absolute requirement. She also has a cat in her foster home that she is fine with!<br/><br/>She is still working on her housetraining - almost there! - so will need a family that can support that. She is definitely a velcro dog who prefers to be with her people, so it would be perfect if she had a work from home, or stay at home mom or dad to take care of both of those needs!<br/><br/>If you think yours could be that perfect Truffle home, please DO NOT SUBMIT AN INQUIRY through petfinder! We do not always receive them. Instead, copy and paste the following link into your browser to submit an application:<br/><br/>https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/GARP/Dog<br/><br/>Please also follow us on Facebook to keep up with all our Pals, upcoming events where you can meet them, and announcements!<br/><br/>https://www.facebook.com/share/ahFTecYpLt3bLPkf/?mibextid=qi2Omg <br/><br/>** Please note: breeds listed are just a guess based on appearance/behavior UNLESS we state in bio that we know the breed(s). Rescue Pals, Inc.'s Adoption Policy
Thank you for your interest in one of our Pals! Our adoption fees for dogs are: Puppies up to 1 Year Old : $400 Adult Dogs 1 - 9 Years : $350 Senior Dogs 10 - 12 Years : $300 Super Senior Dogs 12 + Years : $150 Kittens up to 1 Year Old : $125 Adult Cats 1 - 12 Years : $95 Senior Cats 12 + Years : $75 If multiple cats/kittens are adopted to the same home at the same time, each kitty after the first (youngest) will have their fee reduced by $25. All dogs and cats are or will be: spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, and on flea/tick/heartworm prevention. Here is our adoption process: Applicants must be at least 21 years of age. Applicants must be ready for a new pet to come home immediately after the entire adoption process is complete and approved. We are not able to hold animals if you have travel coming up, etc., so please be prepared to make arrangements for your new pet if that is the case. After submitting an application, your information will be reviewed and a vet check will be done for your current and past pets (going back 5 years). Your pets should be spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccines, and on heartworm prevention. Veterinary medical exceptions will be taken into consideration for any of those items. If you and the pet you are applying for seem like a great fit, a member of our adoption team will contact you for a telephone interview. After that, a home check will be done, and then a meet and greet (maybe at the same time!). If all is well and everyone agrees that this is the right new family member for you, the adoption can be finalized at that time! Please note that we are an all-volunteer organization, and in some cases when multiple applications come in for the same pet we may not be able to respond to each applicant. If a pet no longer appears on Petfinder, it means he or she has been adopted. Applying for a pet does not place that animal on hold, or guarantee approval. Our goal is to make the very best match that will last a lifetime for the pet, so we hope everyone can understand and appreciate that. If your application is approved through 1st review and vet check, but we don't feel that the pet you're interested in is the right fit, we may suggest another who we feel would be a better fit for your lifestyle/what you're looking for. Thank you so much again for your interest in adopting a Pal, and helping us save lives!
