Trudy's Story

Meet Trudy, a precious girl who is around 3 years old and a perfect 69 pounds. Trudy is a calm, lower energy girl who doesn’t need a lot of exercise, just a comfortable couch and a few toys to play with. She is great with other dogs unless they are too bossy or overpowering. Trudy would do best in a home with another calm, friendly dog to give her confidence and help her feel at home.

With her quiet personality Trudy doesn’t need long walks or a lot of activity. She is crate trained, leash trained, enjoys car rides, and has no behavioral issues. She does sleep in bed with her foster mom but is crated when left alone.

Trudy is shy at first but once she settles in, her silly personality comes out. While she has a low to medium energy level, she will get the zoomies and play with toys. Mostly, she is calm and just enjoys hanging out. Trudy is a great snuggler with her people and dog friends! She is also cat friendly and has done well in her foster home with the resident cats!

Trudy is not a fan of thunder. She will pant and stay close to you when it’s storming. If you aren’t home and she’s in a crate when it storms, she will get more anxious and possibly try to get out of the crate. If there is a bad storm, Trudy has a prescription medication that helps calm her nerves tremendously!

While Trudy hasn’t been fostered in a home with children, we expect older children should be fine although, younger children might have too much energy for her.

Trudy is a sweet, sensitive dog who will make a perfect companion for a quieter home and will be a wonderful friend to any low-key dogs and cats!

Trudy will be available for adoption in RI on, or after, September 25th, 2026

If you are interested in Trudy and are an approved adopter, please contact your Adoption Coordinator to be added to Trudy’s list. If you are not yet approved, you can find our adoption guidelines and application at: www.savealabrescue.org
