Trudy's Story

Trudy is a tiny shadow with a big, gentle heart, and once she decides you're her person, she is with you for good.

She's a fawn and white Chihuahua mix, 2 years old, with ears that could pick up a signal from space and soft brown eyes that are very hard to say no to.

She's shy at first in the sweetest way, but she warms up quickly and then wants nothing more than to be near her people. She quietly follows her foster from room to room, finds a cozy spot, and curls up like she has always lived there. Most of the time she's a low-energy, sleepy girl, but bring out a fuzzy squeaky toy and a whole other Trudy appears. She loves fetch, proudly carries her toys around, and has been known to sneak them under the bed for safekeeping.

Indoors she's mostly quiet, loves belly rubs, gives gentle kisses, and has learned an irresistibly cute slow-motion "sit." She sleeps soundly in her crate and is working on house training, improving steadily with a consistent potty schedule.

On leash she's an easy, gentle companion. She walks without pulling, takes in the world at her own pace, and stops for a polite sniff when she meets someone new. Noisy, barky dogs can make her a little nervous, but she handles it quietly and is happy to observe from a comfortable distance.

Trudy is looking for a home where someone is around often and wants a little dog to share the couch, the quiet evenings, and all the small moments in between. She just needs to know her people are close.

If you are interested in adopting, head to hitlivingfoundation.org/adopt to apply.

Est DOB: 04/21/2023
Adoption Fee: $550
