Trooper's Story
Meet our beautiful polar bear—oops, we mean Golden Retriever—Trooper! This big, handsome boy is 4 years old and weighs 100 pounds of pure love.

Trooper came to us from a shelter and is now thriving in his foster home. He absolutely adores his foster mom and has been such a good boy when left alone. With the help of a trainer, Trooper has learned a lot and now walks nicely on leash—though at his size, you’ll want to keep a good grip! He does have a prey drive, so if a squirrel, cat, or bunny scampers by, he might try to follow. Because of this, Trooper will need a cat-free home.

Trooper is best as the only dog in the household. The good news is that he’s truly all the dog you’ll ever need—loyal, loving, and full of heart. He enjoys calm environments and would do best in a quiet home without children or a lot of visitors. He can take some time to warm up to new people, but once he trusts you, he’ll be your very best friend.

This gentle giant is looking for a safe, kid free, loving home where he can enjoy the perfect mix of adventure and relaxation—a walking partner by day and a lounge buddy by night. Trooper can’t wait to find his forever family and finally stretch out for a comfy nap knowing he belongs.

GRCGLARescue adopts within the counties of Los Angeles, Ventura, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino and San Diego. Because we do require pre-adoption screening and post-adoption follow-up, we cannot support adoptions outside of this service area.

If you have a current application on file and would like to inquire about this dog, please email adoptions@grcglarescue.org. Otherwise, please make sure to complete the online adopter application found at http://www.grcglarescue.org/adopt before sending your inquiry.
