Trixie's Story

Meet Trixie the happiest little Cocker Spaniel youll ever meet!

Trixies life didnt start out easy. She came from a terrible hoarding situation where she was used to produce litter after litter of puppies. But despite everything shes been through, this sweet girl has held onto her joy, curiosity, and absolutely hilarious personality.

Trixie is a Cocker Spaniel, shes blind, and shes heartworm positive—but dont tell her any of that matters. In Trixies mind, shes a completely normal dog who is here to have FUN! She zooms around the yard, explores with confidence, and recently decided the kiddie pool was the greatest invention ever. After splashing around in a few inches of water, she proudly ran back inside soaking wet and jumped on the bed like she had just won an Olympic medal.

At adoption, Pitt Friends will provide one year of slow-kill heartworm medication to help continue her treatment. Trixie may be blind, but she navigates home life incredibly well and quickly learns her surroundings. She can be nervous at busy adoption events (understandably so), but in a home environment she blossoms into the mischievous, affectionate, and lovable little clown she truly is.

If youre looking for a dog who will make you laugh every single day and remind you that joy doesnt depend on perfect circumstances, Trixie is your girl.

She may not see the world, but she absolutely knows how to enjoy it.

Pitt Friends's Adoption Policy
Thank you for considering adopting from Pitt Friends! The first step in our adoption process is filling out our application, which you can find at pittfriends.com. If your application is approved, the foster family will reach out to you directly to arrange a meet and greet at a mutually agreeable time and place. We do not have a shelter facility. All of our animals live in foster care full time, in the homes of our volunteers. Our adoption fee is $200 and includes spay/neuter, microchip, vaccines, deworming, and any other medical care that is required prior to adoption. A home check and vet reference are required prior to adoption. Each dog has different needs, so if one particular dog is not the right fit for your home, we may be able to recommend another that is a better match!
