TRENTON's Story
Around 4 years old, this coal-black boy with his one little speckled white foot came to us unsure of everything - leashes, toys, even gentle hands. He used to belly crawl like a soldier in the hallway, trying to disappear from a world that hadnâ€ÂTMt been kind to him.But Trenton is so brave. Now he lets us leash him and walks through the hallways, no longer trying to hide. And the sweetest surprise? Heâ€ÂTMs discovered he loves affection. Kind words and gentle pets are slowly teaching him that maybe… just maybe… heâ€ÂTMs safe.He doesnâ€ÂTMt need perfection. He doesnâ€ÂTMt need a busy home or a pile of toys. He just needs someone patient, someone kind—someone willing to keep showing him that the world can be safe, and that he is worthy of it.Watching Trenton come out of his shell has been nothing short of incredible. And we know that in the right home, with the right person, heâ€ÂTMs going to continue to blossom into the dog he was always meant to be.All he needs… is a chance. The Haywood County Animal Services Adoption Center is located at 453 Jones Cove Road, Clyde, NC 28721. Hours of operation are Monday - Friday 12pm - 5pm and Saturday 12pm - 4pm. Closed Sundays. Contact the Adoption Center directly at 828-456-5338 ext. 2 or send an email to adoptapet@haywoodcountync.gov.
