Travis's Story
10/24/25-

We currently have several dogs in our program that are diamonds in the rough. They oftentimes have been with us for several months and need a little "extra" encouragement to be the best pups they can be. Not everyone is instantly perfect, you know, but that doesn't mean they shouldn't see love. At All Creatures, we don't do convenience euthanasias to make room for other pets in need, but we do have some Urgent pets... those that urgently are seeking loving homes. We are going to start featuring our "Diamonds in the Ruff" dogs on Fridays before noon in hopes of bringing them the special spotlight they deserve.

Everyone, we'd like to reintroduce you to Travis, a sweet and slightly shy boy that came to us last this past Spring from a neglectful situation in Kentucky. With several German Shepherd and Collie mixes on the property, we believe he is likely a Shepherd blend of some sort.

Travis was severely malnourished when he came to us in April and was only 15# at 6 months old but he is now a much healthier 45# and he just celebrated his one year birthday. Due to his previous poor condition, he does have some mobility issues and tires a bit easier then the average large breed pup. We aren't sure how this will affect him as he matures, but he hasn't let this break his spirit.

Travis has a gentle disposition, is inquisitive and has really come out of his shell in foster, but he tends to need a little extra time to warm up to people. He is currently in a home with several dogs and cats and he does ok, but he would probably do best in a quieter adult home where he can enjoy more one on one attention all to himself. He tends to love being the center of attention and would prefer his toys stay all to himself. Being in a home with large breed experience, possibly even previous Shepherd experience, would be ideal for Travis to help show him the way and guide him to being the best boy possible. He is crate trained and housebroken and does listen very well, but in true Shepherd fashion he will complain and talk back any chance he gets.

We like to call Travis "perfectly imperfect" but we know there is a perfect family for him out there somewhere, maybe yours?

Due to his size and age, foster to adopt requirements are:
•Living within 80 miles of Adams, NY.
•Having previous/current pets in annually at a local veterinary office and up to date on vaccines as well as spay/neutered.
•Being able to bring him back to our vets office in Adams if additional care will be needed prior to adoption. After adoption, we recommend taking him to your current vet to be established.
•One or two social dogs in the home and cats should be ok, but he will likely need a meet and greet or two to acclimate first.
•Homes with children over 12 years old should be ok due to his current size and activity level
•Willing to have current family members come to a meet and greet to meet the pet and be sure an acceptable match.
•Having time available to care for, socialize and start the training of a new pet.
•Applicants with a fenced yard will be prioritized, though it is not a requirement. Travis has the potential to be spooked easily so a quiet place for leashwalking will be needed initially.

An adoption donation of $450 is being asked for him if you choose to adopt, but fostering is free. He had his initial vet check, is current on vaccines, dewormings and prescription flea and tick medications and he has been neutered

For more information, go to allcreaturesbigandsmall.org and email a completed adoption application to meowchatz@hotmail.com or submit an adoption application online at https://form.jotform.com/Meowchatz/pet-adoption-application-form

Please help us to continue helping those that knock on our doors!

4/28/25: Foster to adopt home needed!

Meet Travis, a sweet and slightly shy boy that came to us last weekend from a hoarding home in Kentucky with dozens of dogs and pups on the property, and many severely neglected, starved and fending for themselves in the unpredictable Kentucky weather. With several German Shepherd and Collie mixes on the property, you would assume he would get to be 50+# full grown, but at just over 6 months old, he is only 14# at this time and will likely only be 30-40# full sized.
Travis has a gentle disposition, is inquisitive and is starting to come out of his shell already in foster. He has started running around in their fenced yard and learning how to "dog" from the other dogs in the home. He is very goofy and uncoordinated, but very comical and eager to please. He has learned to sit already and is learning to potty outside, but he still believes the kennel is his safe place and will potty in there out of habit. There are cats and chickens in his foster families home and he is realizing that if he gets close to them they will run.. this is loads of fun for him, not so much for the other animals but he does know what "no" means and is starting to learn what is appropriate behavior. If you're looking for a sun bathing soul mate or a big dog look in a littler dog body, Travis may be perfect for you!

Due to his size and age, foster to adopt requirements are:
-Living within 80 miles of Adams, NY.
-Having previous/current pets in annually at a local veterinary office and up to date on vaccines as well as spay/neutered.
-Being able to bring him back to our vets office in Adams if additional care will be needed prior to adoption. We get multiple inquires each day with only an hour of "free time" to volunteer and answer them around our full-time jobs and family life...don't let your inquiry get passed by because of an incomplete application. Thanks in advance for your help!

Help our rescue by donating to our "Spay the momma fund". When adopting one of our babies, if each new family would contribute an extra $10 we can help out that babies mother by assisting with the cost of her spay. Help turn the momma into a pet rather than a breeding factory, donate today!

Adoptions limited to an 80 mile radius of Pulaski, NY and pets must be viewed in person by all family members prior to adoption; animals will not be shipped to their new homes. Veterinary reference check and adoption donation also required. Check out our homepage for a full list of our adoption requirements.
