Trapper's Story

It's adorable & adoptable: Trapper! Trapper is a gorgeous boy waiting to be someone's best sidekick. He is around a year and a half old and VERY energetic--and he is good-sized too!-- not too small and not too large, weighing in at around 32 lbs.
Trapper is a permanent winker: he's only got one eye, but he doesn't miss a thing! There aren't enough toys or squeaky balls in the world for him, but he makes do with every one he can find in your house. Trapper walks well on a leash and has free reign of the house when his fosters are away. He likes to sleep in bed with his fosters and is great about not crowding them and is also happy to sleep on the floor next to the bed. He knows how to use a dog door and uses it all day long to hunt lizards and make sure the squirrels and deer are kept out of the yard. He will chase a ball as long as you throw it, and RIP to your arm muscles because you will need to throw it A LOT to burn off all of that well stored energy.
He has a very loud bark that he uses to let strangers know he is watching, so a home with a backyard would be the best home for him. He is a sweetheart who loves affection but insists on a warming up period first as he is still learning to trust people. Trapper would do best with an experienced dog owner in an active home where he gets lots exercise, walks and stimulation. He knows how to sit and wait for his meals and treats. He is good with children after being slowly introduced and is great with cats.
Interested in adoption? Our adoptions require an approved application which you can find on our austincockerrescue.org website. Already approved applicants can email us at woof@austincockerrescue.org to express their interest. We adopt to within the state of Texas and do not ship or transport dogs.
