Trapper

Trapper is a 1.5 year-old, 50lb Hound/Shepherd mix with a remarkable story. After surviving for weeks with a claw trap attached to his paw, he was finally safely captured in February 2026 and came to us for care, ultimately needing two toes amputated. He has fully recovered and is now thriving in foster care. Trapper is house trained, uses a doggie door, dog friendly, and currently lives with cats, though a cat-savvy home or supervised interactions are recommended. He can be shy, especially with men, loud noises scare him, and would likely do best in a quieter home with older children, if any. Absolutely no aggression concerns and loves having a safe space like a crate or hideout area. He adores toys for comfort and almost always carries one around, becoming playful as he settles in. He is still learning leash skills (does not yet confidently walk on leash - fenced yard required) and is building confidence with doorways. Trapper should be fed separately from other animals (like in a crate) and has a cute habit of pawing at you when he wants something.
