Tracer - Phoenix area (COURTESY POST)'s Story

This golden-eyed cutie is Tracer! A 2-year old Rhodesian Ridgeback / Lab mix. Tracer has been in the shelter since October and is fed up with living in a kennel! This guy needs a home ASAP! Tracer was found wandering by himself on a hiking trail and came right up to his finder for help!

Tracer knows how to walk on a leash well and knows he is supposed to take treats from staff hands gently! This dreamboat likes to get petting and attention, but isn’t all over people right away. When he had an adoption meeting, he spent more time exploring and sniffing the new smells and wasn’t interested in playing with the new people right away. They ended up not adopting and Tracer went back to waiting in a kennel. Some independence in dogs is a good thing and we are glad that Tracer doesn’t need to be in his person's lap 24/7.

Tracer has not been around other dogs or kids outside the shelter and, as we all know, the shelter is very overwhelming. With all the crazy noise and new dogs every day, Tracer has been pulling on the leash and barking when he sees other dogs. He has not shown any aggression, however a foster home needs to be able to keep Tracer separated until an evaluation and some decompressed introductions can be facilitated. A rescue should help you and Tracer do that together! Since he has been getting antsy in his kennel, Tracer has started pulling at the leash and getting mouthy with treats. This can be easily corrected once he is out!

-*-*-*-*-*-

Apply here today to talk to one of our volunteers and set up a time for your family to meet this dog! http://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/foster/BPAZ/Dog

bravepawsaz@gmail.com
https://www.facebook.com/BravePawsAZ
