Tormund's Story
Meet Tormund!

She may have the name of a ferocious warrior, but she is just as shy as she is cute. Despite her young age, she is reacting very well to learning basic commands, putting her on the fast track to be a great companion. So far, she is showing great respect for other dogs' space within the home but is also more than willing to engage in play. When it comes to an ideal fit, she is well tested, passing with flying colors when it comes to exposure to other dogs, children over the age of 10, and complete strangers even when they enter her space. Tormund has not quite been tested with cats or children under the age of 10, but we think due to her bubbly personality and quick learning she would do very well with the proper introductions!

So if you're looking for a furry friend with the heart of a warrior and the personality of a cuddle-bug, she's your gal!

What is Path of Hope Rescue's Adoption Process?

Our adoption process takes on average 7-10 days.

Begin by completing the online application. In Home Trials are a minimum of (2) nights for a puppy and one week for an adult. Your Matchmaker will check in with you during this time.

Sign the adoption paperwork and adopt your new family member!

Adopting from Path of Hope Rescue

Our adoption process sets us apart. We specialize in learning about you and your family to find just the right fit for you. Our Matchmakers are not only good at what they do; they will also guide you through the entire process.

Our Minimum Adoption Donation is $550 for puppies under a year and $450 for dogs a year and older. We are a WA state registered non-profit and rely heavily on adoption donations to cover the expenses associated with saving lives. Our dogs are spayed/neutered prior to adoption; microchipped with free lifetime registration; and up to date on DAPP, Bordetella, and Rabies vaccinations (when age appropriate) and deworming and heartworm treatment/prevention. Adopters can also earn a $100 training refund if they attend (6) hours of any in person training course.

Long Distance adopters (one hour or more from Spokane) may choose to travel to Spokane to pick up their dog or use our monthly transport option, Puppy Delivery Express, for an additional delivery donation of $250. Puppy Delivery Express currently delivers dogs throughout Washington and to parts of Montana, Idaho, and Oregon.

About Path of Hope Rescue

At Path of Hope Rescue, our goal is to make EVERY DOG. WANTED. Our two employees and army of volunteers focus on transporting pregnant dogs and puppies from Texas, the number one kill state in America. The dogs we rescue are in poor living conditions and on euthanasia lists in shelters that are inundated with unwanted animals. We want to give these dogs a chance and bring them to the Pacific Northwest to find adoptive, loving homes.

We are 100% foster based; our dogs are fostered in loving homes where they are house and crate trained and learn basic obedience and leash skills. Dogs experience socialization opportunities with people, places, and other animals, and they receive the attention required to become well-rounded, healthy, and affectionate dogs that they would not otherwise receive in a shelter environment.

Our commitment does not end when the dog is adopted. Path of Hope offers post adoption owner support including information on making the dog's transition to your home a smooth one; recommendations for Preferred Trainers; advice on pet behavior and wellness topics; Facebook litter groups to keep in touch with fellow adopters; and invitations to local rescue hosted events.

Please visit https://www.pathofhoperescue.com/ for more information about our organization and the adoption process.
