Tony's Story
Meet Tony: A Sweet Little Senior Looking for a Forever Home!

Sweet and gentle 8-year-old, 27lb Tony was brought into North Central Shelter in Los Angeles as a stray in November of 2025. Our team at Dog Coalition LA fell in love with this little man right away, and we were able to place him into a foster home with one of our team members.

Tony spent his first few weeks in foster care decompressing from the stress of the shelter and recovering from a cough. We’re so happy he was able to heal in the warmth and comfort of a home rather than a kennel. Now that he’s feeling better, his personality is beginning to shine. He’s a quiet, easygoing little guy who is both house and crate trained, and he enjoys the company of both people and other dogs.

Tony would likely do well in a home with other well balanced dogs or as a solo companion. He’s cute and flirty with his doggie friends and equally happy curling up on a cozy dog bed with one of them. As a low-energy senior, he would thrive in a calm, predictable home where he can relax, enjoy a short stroll or a little yard time, and then settle in for more lounging. He also enjoys car rides and would make a sweet little sidekick for errands or a relaxed coffee outing.

Because Tony can be sensitive about having his face handled, he would do best with an adopter who understands dog body language and is comfortable going slow and letting him set the pace for touch and affection. Someone with experience with small dogs—especially chihuahua-type personalities—would likely be a great match for this lovely but particular little guy.

What You Should Know About Tony:

- A Sweet 8-year-old, 27lb senior looking for a calm forever home where he can feel safe, loved, and have plenty of cozy places to curl up for a nap

- Gentle, low-energy companion who enjoys people, cozy naps, the company of other dogs, and relaxed outings

- Would thrive with a patient adopter who understands small dog quirks and will respect his boundaries while he builds trust

To meet Tony, please fill out an adoption form on dogcoaltionla.org/adopt and follow @dogcoaltionla for updates!
