Personality:<br/>Tony is a sweet, friendly and confident boy with a happy, outgoing personality. He is affectionate and<br/>personable, seeks eye contact and enjoys spending time with his handlers. He has a lovely waggy tail and an<br/>expressive grey face that gives him plenty of character.<br/>Tony enjoys attention, treats and being brushed, and has a playful side with the occasional burst of zoomies. He<br/>can become enthusiastic and excitable when first clipped on lead, but once settled he shows a much gentler and<br/>calmer side. He is generally good on lead and enjoys taking his time to sniff and explore his surroundings.<br/>Behaviour Assessment:<br/>Tony can become quite enthusiastic when excited, but once the initial excitement passes, he becomes much easier<br/>to manage and has shown good manners when leaving his pen and heading out for walks.<br/>During his assessment with other breed dogs, Tony's complete lack of previous exposure to them meant he<br/>exhibited a high level of interest. He was rough and rude in his interactions with the medium sized dogs and this<br/>escalated when on a long lead. Tony would benefit from structured exposure to other dogs.<br/>On walks, Tony loves to sniff, but settles into a comfortable pace and generally does not pull. He is also<br/>comfortable around passing traffic. Tony completed his airline crate-training session very well, entering the crate,<br/>lying down and remaining as quiet as a mouse throughout.<br/>NOTE: Tony is a clever boy and also bored in kennels - so he has worked out how to flip open some outdoor pen<br/>latches to get out of the internal yards. Hence secure gates will be important in his future home.<br/><br/>Overall Comments:<br/>Tony is a happy and affectionate boy with plenty of personality. He can be excitable and boisterous when first<br/>taken out of his kennel, but has shown that he is capable of settling into a much calmer and gentler boy with<br/>appropriate guidance.<br/>He enjoys his walks, affection, treats and opportunities to explore .. Tony would benefit from a home that can<br/>provide consistency, secure boundaries and continued work on managing his excitement, particularly around<br/>other dogs. With the right guidance and routine, his sweet and personable nature will have plenty of<br/>opportunity to shine.<br/><br/>Update from foster family. Tony is doing weii as an only dog. He settles quickly in his crate after about a minute. He is quite smart and engaging with his foster family. He enjoys his walks and playing with toys. He is not food motivated and picky about his treats.
