Tommy's Story

Tommy is a fantastic little 3-month old Chihuahua/Dachshund mix puppy. He tips the scale at a little over 5 pounds now, and we’re guessing full grown he’ll about 10 to 12 pounds.

Tommy is a happy little guy who loves EVERYBODY! He’s living in a foster home with 7 dogs (all sizes) and 7 cats and he gets along with all of them! His favorite activity is to play with the other puppies in the house—it’s zoomies around the backyard and wrassling and playing tug of war with each other.

When it’s mealtime, Tommy will be first in line! He LOVES to eat. He was a little chub when we got him, but thanks to his backyard activities with his siblings, he has slimmed down nicely. As a food-motivated dog, he will be easy to train.

When he’s finally tired and full, Tommy likes to settle down for a good snuggle with his person. He will happily take all the affection he can get. If you look like you might be in the mood to give a tummy rub, he will joyfully roll over on to his back to expose his plump little belly.

Tommy is an exceptionally well-behaved puppy. He rarely barks. He is almost completely housetrained in his foster home, though you can expect to have to re-train him in a new environment. He loves to sleep in the bed with foster dogmom and will get down to use the potty pads if he has to piddle in the middle of the night. He is not crate-trained per se, but he should do fine in a crate as he is kept in a pen when his fosters are not home. He would do equally well in a home or apartment, with a single, a couple, or a family.

Tommy’s adoption fee is $275 and includes neuter, all puppy shots & microchip.

Note:
We always respond first to inquiries that tell us something about your living situation (house, apartment, single, family, etc.) and why you want this dog. Be sure to include your phone number in your inquiry. We call inquiries that seem to be a good fit for the dog.
