TOKYO*'s Story

The Tokyo dog statue refers to the famous bronze statue of Hachiko, an Akita dog known for his unwavering loyalty, located outside the Shibuya train station. After his owner passed away, Hachiko continued to wait for him at the station every day for the next decade, becoming a national symbol of loyalty. The statue serves as a popular meeting point, and its location has a dedicated exit called the Hachiko Exit. We can offer you one better than a bronze statue of a faithful dog- we’d love to introduce you to very good boy, Tokyo! Warm and snuggly, flesh and bone, much better to snuggle than a cold metal statue! His volunteer friends love spending time with this goofy boy, sharing: “Tokyo is a quirky and fun dog who loves his time outside of the kennel. He’s always eager to go to a play yard with his kennelmate and enjoys exploring and stretching his legs. Tokyo is young and energetic and I think will thrive in an active home where he can go on plenty of adventures. He needs a little bit of help feeling brave and comfortable with new people, but his curious and friendly personality is always on display. He loves to play a game of “catch me if you can” when it’s time to go back to his kennel, running as close as possible to me, looking at me with a big grin on his face, and dashing away before I can pick up his leash. He's a goofball who will bring a lot of joy to someone’s life!” Tokyo is a playful pup who shares his kennel politely and has been easygoing when meeting other dogs in playgroup. He’s dreaming of a family who will give him plenty of opportunities to play and build his confidence in a new environment. If you’re looking for a pup to keep you laughing, we think Tokyo could be your boy! Come meet him today!
