He is incredibly sweet, affectionate, and happiest when he can be right by your side. He enjoys being active and will need regular exercise to help him stay healthy and reach a more comfortable weight.<br/><br/>A securely fenced yard is a must for Toby. He loves chasing lizards and exploring, and if given the opportunity, he is more than happy to take himself on an adventure! His new family will need to be diligent about keeping doors and gates securely closed.<br/><br/>Toby also enjoys going for walks, but he does best in a quiet neighborhood with minimal distractions and few, if any, other dogs around. A calm environment where he can enjoy his walks without becoming overwhelmed will be ideal.<br/><br/>Toby does have some behaviors that make his placement especially important. He can be protective of his food, toys, and favorite person, so he needs an experienced adopter who understands resource guarding and is comfortable providing consistent boundaries, structure, and positive guidance.
