Toby Charles's Story
Meet Toby!
Toby is a 3-year-old, 56 lb hound with a gentle disposition. He’s a friendly, goofy guy who loves to run and play. Graceful, he is not, but grateful, he is.

Despite living his past life in a muddy pen with no positive human interaction, Toby remains friendly and willing to trust. Toby has an eye injury that was likely sustained by trauma, but it doesn’t stop him from playing. The happiness he exudes in spite of his trauma is both heartbreaking and heartwarming. ??

You’ll fall in love with him the second you meet him, and if he loves you back, he’ll bowl into you with a big old hug every time he sees you. The sweet boy has never been sad for a second in his life.

He’s a big fan of stuffed toys and enjoys getting his energy out in a big yard or dog park. He loves other dogs (sometimes just a little too much, if ya catch our drift ?) but that is already improving and should subside with time after his neuter, and he has done excellent with potty training.

He’s very good at walking on a leash (for a hound) and loves saying hi to people that he walks by. He’d make a great running buddy for a jogger or runner since his legs are nice and long — he loves to run!

He’s obsessed with treats, food, and pup cups. He knows his name and comes when called — we’re working on other training like “sit” and “off”!

Toby loves:
? Riding in the car – he hops right into his crate
? Walking or running on and off leash
? Playing with canine friends
?? Pup cups from Starbucks
? Going on adventures – he’s up for anything from Home Depot to hiking
? Booty scratches

Toby's Webpage - (copy and paste)
https://beaglemaryland.org/2025/10/06/toby-3/

Adoptable Dog Webpage: https://beaglemaryland.org/adopt/

If you'd like to adopt one of our beagles:
*Go to our Website https://beaglemaryland.org/
*Review our Standards for Adoption - https://beaglemaryland.org/adoptionstandards/
*Fill out an Adopter Profile -
https://beaglemaryland.org/application/
and submit it to us through the site (or print it off, fill it in and send it via regular mail, if you prefer)
*A BRSM volunteer will contact you to guide you through the rest of the process!

We hope to hear from you, and so do the beagles!
