Toby's Story

Toby is a big guy. At a year old he’s lovable, large, and in charge. He has a beautiful lace ear and lighter eyes that give him a unique look. He’s sweet and snuggly. He enjoys cuddling, playing with other dogs and he’s a big fan of eating ice chips! (And treats).

Toby is potty trained, crate trained, and friendly with dogs, cats, and children. That said, he wasn’t socialized much outside of the home he grew up in so he is nervous/scared in new situations. Sometimes that manifests in barking, but he warms up easily with treats and belly rubs. He will need a family who is understanding and willing to work at his pace. Once he trusts you, he is the best boy. He’s not going to be the dog you immediately start bringing to dog parks or farmer’s markets. He’s going to need to work on his socialization.

Toby is seeking a home with another dog (at the least). Having friends around helps him feel more confident and less anxious. He’d benefit from a home that had people around often and a family who understands that socialization takes time.

If Toby seems like the best boy and you’d like to meet him, please visit our website to fill out an adoption questionnaire. Toby is currently in Gibsonton, but he can be transported anywhere within the state.

AllHoundRescue.org/toby
