Toby's Story

Toby is a very fun little dog! He’s well trained and loves to show off his intelligence! He’s rings a bell to go outside. He solves puzzles for treats and he loves playing games! He stays in the yard without being leashed or fenced in, but we never recommend leaving a dog out alone for any length of time - especially a little guy like Toby.

Toby is house broken, crate trained and he gets along with just about anyone. He does sometimes like to be a bully towards cars though. He’s great with kids and gets along with dogs of all sizes.

He loves playing with his toys, but he’s also a great snuggle buddy for those lazy days cuddled up on the couch.

Toby does have strange little seizures that require daily medication but they seem to be under control. The medication costs about $20/month and the seizures don’t affect his daily life.

Ruff House Animal Rescue's Adoption Policy
1.) If you are interested in meeting one of our adoptable animals, please fill out an Adoption Application at www.rhar.org. Filling out an Adoption Application is NOT a commitment to adopt an animal, but helps us to start the screening process and make sure that the animal is a good fit for your home. 2.) Once we receive and review your Adoption Application, we will contact you by phone or email to schedule a meet-and-greet and home-check. Everyone living in your home should be present for the meet-and-greet; if you have existing pets in the home, multiple meet-and-greets may be required to determine if the potential animal is a good fit. 3.) If all goes well and you are selected to adopt the chosen animal, you will have the option to start a two-week trial adoption . Each animal is provided with age-appropriate vetting prior to adoption. This includes vaccinations, spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm test (if over 6 months of age), and being treated for any external or internal parasites. Adoptions are not done on a first-come-first-serve basis; we strive to place each animal in a home that is the best fit for them, and work diligently to insure that adopters are also getting an animal that is right for their home and lifestyle. Adoption fees generally range from $200 - $350, depending on the animal. In some instances, our long-term and medical dogs may have their adoption fees reduced or sponsored to an approved home.
