Meet Toby
Toby is about 9 years old. He was surrendered to a local vet clinic after suffering a spinal stroke (Fibrocartilaginous Embolism) on July 2, 2018.
Immediate rehabilitation therapy is the chosen method to full recovery. Which is what our rescue provided for Toby immediately. He started rehab on July 3rd, 3 x day, 7 days a week for 4 weeks.
He has recovered fully and is now seeking his forever home. (He has already been in 2 homes prior to coming into our society).
Toby is seeking an adult only home. Without children. He is not fond of children, and that's supposedly the reason he was given up by his first family in 2017.
Toby has been totally non aggressive to other dogs or cats. However, he doesn't like to live with lots of other dogs. A calm gentle canine friend would be most suiting for him.
Toby also has separation Anxiety and cannot be in an apartment or townhome...a detached home is best, with people that aren't gone for long periods of time. His new people will also need to be able to ingnore his barking and whining.
If this is done religiously and consistently for 2 weeks, he figures out that his demands will not be met unless he is quiet.
He is totally house broken. Is not destructive in any way. Is very affectionate with his human counterparts. Loves going for walks, and is great on leash.
Because of his previous medical condition he should not be taken to off leash dog parks where there is too much rough play and running.
He also should be kept off high beds (as his injury happened when he jumped off his owners bed).
He's pretty good at getting on and off a lower sofa, as long as there's a non slip mat for him to have some grip.
Toby deserves his final and forever home. It's time he stopped getting shuffled around. He needs someone to love him, understand him, and be patient with him until he settles in.
Toby's adoption fee is $395.
He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and will have a dental cleaning prior to being adopted.
An adoption application and home visit is required.
