TOBY is approx 5-6 yrs old....we think a purebred Husky .....he was rescued within 24 hrs of being euthanized at the Martinez shelter <br/><br/>He is a beautiful dog but is a serious Husky that needs a serious and experienced Husky adopter whose a strong pack leader! <br/><br/>We don't know his history but it's possible he was a back yard dog….<br/><br/>GOOD THINGS <br/><br/>He’s VERY loyal and likes to hang out with his person….if you are in the kitchen he will be in the kitchen, if you are watching a movie he’ll be hanging out <br/>So he makes a great companion! <br/><br/>He’s mostly an outside dog! He likes to come inside for a while but he does start getting anxious ….so to be humane he must be able to get outside <br/><br/>He’s NOT a typical Husky! He never tries to escape the back yard….you can trust that if he’s left outside ….he will still be there when you get home <br/><br/>He’s VERY playful….he LOVES toys and tree branches and can stay entertained for hours ! <br/><br/>He's 50/50 around other dogs He’s good with some dogs and does have dog-friends at the rescue but he also has had some issues so need to be careful and no dog parks ever <br/><br/>QUIRKS <br/><br/>He is a little bit of a wild card and has a mind of his own. <br/><br/>If he doesn’t want to obey there’s not much you can do but he IS food motivated so treats are the best form of bribery :) <br/><br/>He is Food Possessive and will growl at you or anyone who gets too close to his food so no kids because they might not get this…This can be a little intimidating <br/><br/>He’s VOCAL like most Huskies and talks to you but can get “whiny” if he wants something But he’s not a barker….<br/><br/>Unfortunately he does have stranger-danger and must be on a secure leash at all times when out in public. <br/><br/>His people skills are iffy…he seems more comfortable with females all his foster moms have been women <br/><br/>It’s pretty obvious he doesn’t like men which can be intimidating ….so another reason he should never be off leash <br/><br/>CONCLUSION <br/><br/>He has many nice qualities and a couple serious quirks! If you would like to give him a chance to have a real home please submit an inquiry.....
