Toby's Story

Meet Toby!

Toby is a 3-year-old Pomeranian mix with a huge personality packed into a tiny, fluffy body—and this adorable little guy is more than ready for his forever home!

From the moment Toby arrived in foster care, he settled in like he had always belonged. He's smart, confident, curious, and wonderfully spunky, with just the right amount of sass to keep life interesting. Toby loves going for walks, playing with toys, chewing on a good bone, and anything that gives his busy little brain something to do. He's also very food-motivated and eager to learn, which makes training him a lot of fun. He already has great house manners and knows how to sit for treats—although he occasionally adds a little stand on my back legs routine because apparently sitting is just too boring.

Toby has done well with other dogs when given proper introductions and could happily share his home with a respectful canine companion. He is also good with children and would likely be a wonderful match for a family with older, dog-savvy kids.

He is crate trained and house trained, and he is the kind of dog who will thrive with a family that wants to include him in everyday life. Toby would love a home in the suburbs with a yard to explore and a neighborhood where he can enjoy plenty of walks and adventures. An apartment or condo lifestyle just isn't the best fit for this energetic little guy.

Toby is funny, affectionate, loyal, and full of personality. He isn't looking for a perfect person—just someone who appreciates a little dog with a big character and is willing to give him the time, attention, and companionship he deserves.

If you're looking for a fun little sidekick who will keep you laughing, join you on walks, and happily be your shadow, Toby might just be your guy.

Illinois Doberman Rescue Plus's Adoption Policy
The first step in meeting our adoptable animals is the breed/species-specific application at www.ILDobeRescue.com. We do a vet check, landlord/association verification, and home visit to ensure a permanent placement for our wonderful animals. Thank you for considering rescue! We look forward to working with you. IDR+ is a network of foster homes; therefore, we do not have a location to visit. The first step in meeting our adoptable animals is the specific application at www.ILDobeRescue.com for a Doberman, Plus dog (non-Dobe), or cat. Approved adopters are then directed to our foster homes.
