Titus's Story

This big teddy bear is TITUS and he's a 10 month old Shepherd mix who is 72 pounds of of love! We think he'll be 75-80 pounds when he's fully grown and has a nice medium level of energy for a puppy so he'll be a gentle giant. We rescued him with his brother, Max and they are both the sweetest and happiest guys. Titus loves to play with other dogs and is very respectful when he meets them even if they're much smaller than him. We think he'll be a wonderful family dog because he loves everyone he meets. He's living with a great Foster family and they took him for a photo shoot so you can see him up close and personal. He was perfect gentleman and loved the car ride too. If you're looking for a great pup to join your family...Titus may be your perfect guy. He's healthy, neutered, house-broken and crate trained too. We think he'd love an active family with a fenced yard too. Reach out to Long Road Home Rescue (lrhrescue@gmail.com) to get lots more info, pics and videos of him.

Long Road Home's Adoption Policy
Where do we get our dogs? Majority of our dogs come from high kill shelters. Some are owner surrender or strays. All of the dogs that come into our rescue have been in high emergency situations where they would not be wagging their tails. We work with a lot of shelters in the south as well as on long island. We have wonderful people who dedicate their time to the dogs and transport them into our long island foster homes.   What happens to the dog after we accept it into the program? All of the dogs first go to see a vet. Once they receive a clean bill of health the go into a home. We normally give each dog at least a week in a home with qualified trainer before we place the dog into a foster. We really like to have the dogs house broken and to have at least started basic obedience training. After the trainer we place the dog into its new foster home until it finds its forever home.
