Tito's Story

Tito is a young male puppy who was found as a stray, severely underweight at the time. Once in foster care he steadily gained weight and currently weighs in at a bit over 30 pounds. We are guessing that when fully grown he will be under 50 pounds. He appears to have suffered no adverse effects from his time on the road.

Tito is a very athletic puppy who can readily leap onto high places. He has a strong food drive and a tendency to try anything to obtain a food target. Tito has a gentle mouth when taking treats.

Tito has been introduced to several dogs and has done well with all. He lives with 3 adult German Shepherds and the older dogs are teaching him his proper place in the foster pack. He loves hanging with his foster sister, another ball-crazy dog and plays rough-and-tumble with the younger male dog.

Tito is crate trained and sleeps quietly through the night. He's house trained as long as he's given regular access to go potty. He quickly learned the sit and climb commands, does well on leash, and has good recall. He rides well in a vehicle.

Tito enjoys chasing a ball or a decoy dummy. He's a very strong swimmer — he'll swim out and return with a floating toy, ready to go again in an instant.

Tito's DNA results are in! He is a mix consisting of about 35% bully breeds, 30% retriever breeds, and a variety of others. His strong desire to swim and fetch now makes sense!

Tito does well with both men and women in his foster home and shows no preference either way. He has met a number if kids at public events and does just fine — we see no evidence he'd have issues living with kids, but given his tendency to jump and steal food, he'd do best in a home with older children.

He has a strong prey drive and should not go to a home with cats.

Tito is looking for his forever sidekick — someone ready for leaps, cuddles, and the occasional snack heist.
