TIPPY's Story

Meet Tippy: part handsome gentleman, part backyard supervisor, and full-time booty-scratch enthusiast. At 8 years young, this tricolored German Shepherd/Australian Shepherd mix has officially mastered the art of being a Very Good BoyTM. He’s got the résumé to prove it too—obedience training? Check. Knows sit, paw, high five, and “leave it”? Check. Takes treats like a polite little prince? Double check. Tippy was surrendered through no fault of his own when his family had to move, and when he first came in, he was a little scared (new place, new people—totally fair!). The good news? He’s already warmed up beautifully and is showing his true sweet, affectionate personality. In the play yard, he turns on the charm immediately: coming over for attention, giving kisses, and leaning in like he’s known you forever. And if you scratch his booty? Congratulations, you now have a best friend for life. He seems interested and friendly with other dogs through the fence—neighborhood gossip is important), and he comes when called because obviously, why wouldn’t you want to hang out with him? On leash, he’s got a little enthusiasm (okay, fine, he pulls a bit), but a harness keeps things nicely under control. He also reportedly loves car rides, is non-destructive, doesn’t try to escape, and friendly with everyone—which basically makes him the total package. Tippy is the kind of dog who walks into your life like, “Hi, yes, I live here now, where are my snacks and scheduled cuddle sessions?” If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate, best friend who will happily trade kisses for booty scratches, Tippy is ready to clock in.
