Tipper Mixed Breed Leesburg, VA

Hi there! My name is Tipper and I am so excited to meet you. I’m not really meeting you at my best right now. I’m a bit embarrassed about the state of my coat. It is usually long and luxurious, but I had to have it clipped down short. See, I had an owner who loved me a whole lot, but had to give me up. She was older and over time couldn’t take care of me like she used to. I miss her lots, but I understand that I am on the way to finding a happily furrever for myself here in, uh, how do you say, Loud-oun County.

So, anyway, my coat was cut down short because I had a lot of mats and was not smelling so great after my owner stopped being able to brush me. But the nice people at the vet told me not to worry, it would grow back.

What else to know about me… I am 11 years old and full of energy. I love to go on long walks (maybe even a run) and want to say hi to every dog I see. I get REALLY excited about cats, so I have heard I shouldn’t live with them. I am a medium-sized shepherd mix, weighing about 45 pounds. My foster mom is working with me on my leash skills. She says I’m a quick study! I am a very good boy who is house-trained. Right now I am a little nervous while I am going through the changes of my owner to different foster families. Please be patient with me if I seem anxious or needy. I love to be close to my people and want constant reassurance that things will be okay.

I am up-to-date on my vaccinations and have been neutered and microchipped. If I could pick my ideal home, it would be one with another dog and a yard!
