My name is Tipper and I am a 6-year-old mixed breed who weighs about 20 lbs.<br/><br/>I came into rescue with a history of a previously broken hip. Our veterinarian took X-rays and it appears to have happened quite some time ago, and the good news is that I've had plenty of time to adjust. I get around well and don't let my old injury stop me from enjoying life!<br/><br/>My future family should still be mindful of my orthopedic history. Keeping me at a healthy weight, providing good traction on slippery floors, avoiding repetitive high-impact activities and excessive jumping, and maintaining regular, moderate exercise can help protect my joints as I get older. My veterinarian can continue monitoring my mobility and address any arthritis or discomfort if it develops.<br/><br/>As for my personality, I'm a people dog through and through. I love attention, getting pets, and being close to my humans. I'm also a nice little walking buddy and do well on leash.<br/><br/>When it comes to other dogs, I would describe myself as dog selective. I'm not a fan of being crowded or having another dog get right in my face, and I definitely don't enjoy the busy dog-playroom environment here. Because of that, I'm not a candidate for doggy daycare or large group play.<br/><br/>That doesn't necessarily mean I have to be the only dog in my forever home. I may be perfectly happy sharing my home with the right canine companion, but introductions will need to be slow and thoughtful, with a dog who understands personal space. My future family should be prepared to let me get comfortable at my own pace rather than expecting me to immediately become best friends with another dog.<br/><br/>What I really want is pretty simple: good people, comfortable walks, some personal space, and plenty of pets.<br/><br/>If you're looking for a sweet, mature companion who would rather spend his day hanging out with his humans than being the life of the doggy daycare party, come meet me.
