Tiny Tim's Story
??ADOPT TINY TIM??
Must have rottweiler experience to adopt.
He is 7-8 years old, cautious of strangers, but he is a sweet boy once he gets to know you.
Do you have a special place in your heart for senior dogs AND Rottweilers? If so, this guy is for you!
We figure he is about 7-8 years old and is kinda set in his ways. Wherever he came from, he was taught a lot and was special to someone. Not sure what happened and how he ended up here, but now he is looking for a new home.
It takes him a couple moments and a few hot dog treats to warm up to new people, but once he accepts you, he attaches himself to you. So, when introducing him to new people, there must be hot dogs involved in the introductions. Very cute personality, and very sweet.
He knows commands like: "Sit", "Spin", and "Shake". He walks great on leash and enjoys them very much. He also likes just sitting in the grass watching the day go by. Oh yes, and he enjoyed the bath he got the other day, which was nice for a change. Most dogs act like we are torturing them the second the water touches them. Not this guy, he kept putting his head under the water like an old Herbal Essence commercial!
Oh and he HATES mice! Keep that in mind.
When we tested him with dogs, he didn't seem too interested, but we don't recommend young, energetic dogs around him at his age. If you do have other dogs, we must do a meet and greet here.
He sniffed the cat, but ignored her after that, but we will test again if you have cats and are interested in him.
We don't know how he is with kids yet. We are going to assume no small kids, and maybe keep it at 10 years and older only. If we think that can be changed, we will let you know.
Unfortunately, with senior dogs, come senior problems. First of all, he hates the vet. He is very scared and had to be sedated just to get vaccines yesterday. While he was under, the vet examined and said he needs a dental, and he has two small masses on his body and thinks they should be removed whenever he has a dental. He is older and could be developing a hip issue, which is common in Rottweilers...he will occasionally drag his back feet when walking.
So, whoever adopts him will have to understand those things.
He is being treated for a bad ear infection and whip worms, so hopefully, those are resolved soon.
He is a good boy and is learning to trust people as much as he can. He deserves a home for the last years of his life.
If you have owned Rottweilers and understand what owning a senior dog takes, please give us a call to meet Tiny Tim.
816-532-0577 or send us a message to our FB page.
